The FreeFlow Administrator provides all of the functionality of the Metastorm administration tools and much more besides. I use this for all of my maintenance of Metastorm databases.

Some of the features of the FreeFlow Administrator that are not provided by the standard admin tools are
- Much better performance. This tool can be used with databases containing tens of thousands of folders.
- Find a folder from its folder ID or folder name.
- Open a folder in Metastorm BPM.
- Rename users.
- Rename maps.
- Give a user a random password.
- View the To Do list, Watch list, errors and activity for a user.
- User session information.
- Reports that give an overview of potential problems with your BPM database.
- View by map, which can be very useful when a large number of procedures have been published and you are uncertain which procedure a map belongs to.
- Open or save any attachments.
- See procedure and map attachments.
- View custom variable values for a folder.
- Save all the latest versions of your procedures and libraries.
- View the Designer Log at the procedure, map, folder and user level.
- Open the folder directly from a Designer Log entry.
- For version 7, see which library versions a procedure version is using and which procedure versions use a version of a library.
- Set more engine settings, such as the notification formula, enable deletion alerts flag, keep alive interval.
- View forms as they will be displayed in the clients.
- XCopy deployment. Copy the files to any machine and run the application.
- Update engine registry settings.
- View the source of scripts in procedures.
- Many reports on the state of the database.
- Reset the folder prefix of maps.
